About the role
- Architect and execute the secure, accurate, and complete migration of legacy data into an Appian-based platform.
- Define transformation logic, mapping strategies, auditability methods, and ensure ongoing data governance and reporting alignment.
- Support cutover planning and long-term data lifecycle requirements in coordination with internal stakeholders.
- Analyze customer requirements and provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.
- Apply knowledge of API for data services and databases.
- Design, develop, build, analyze, evaluate, install and administer database management systems including database modeling and design, relational database architecture, metadata and repository creation and configuration management.
- Design and implement databases with respect to access methods, access time, batch processes, device allocation, validation checks, organization, ETL tasks, protection and security, documentation, and statistical methods.
- Prepare system requirements, source analysis and process analyses and design throughout the database implementation.
- Define database organizations, standards, controls, procedures, and documentation; may provide technical consulting in database environment definition and creation.
- Maintain current knowledge of relevant technology; coach and provide guidance to less experienced professionals; may serve as a team or task lead.
- Facilitate communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders; assess project issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals.
- Clarify requirements, propose solutions, engage customers, select technical solutions, diagnose system issues, create technical workflow and supporting documentation, and implement best practices around technical development and deployment.
Requirements
- BA/BS degree (computer science/systems, information systems/technology, engineering/engineering technology, software, or related major)
- 5+ years of technical leadership experience
- 5+ years of related experience
- Skills: Database Architecture, Data Management, Design
- Appian Certified Lead Developer or Senior Developer
- Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP)
- SAFe Agilist or SAFe DevOps Practitioner
- Track record of leading and managing successful Appian implementations
- Deep experience in developing and managing Appian workflows, user interfaces, decision rules, and data models.
- Thorough understanding of and experience in software development lifecycle and Agile delivery methodology
- Effective written and verbal communication skills (both technical and non-technical)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance and successfully pass a thorough Government background screening process requiring the completion of detailed forms and fingerprinting
- U.S. residency requirement: must have resided in the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for the last five years; U.S. Citizens cannot have left the U.S. for longer than 6 months consecutively in the last 3 years (unless they meet certain exceptions); Non-U.S. Citizens cannot have left the U.S. for longer than 90 days consecutively in the last 3 years.
