About the role
- Develop, test, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL and DB2.
- Analyze and understand business requirements to design effective technical solutions.
- Perform system and data analysis to identify and resolve application issues.
- Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to standards.
- Optimize existing applications for performance and reliability.
- Create and maintain detailed technical documentation.
- Collaborate with project managers, business analysts, and other developers to ensure successful project delivery.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for mainframe applications.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of experience in mainframe development using COBOL and DB2
- Strong understanding of mainframe technologies and architectures
- Proficiency in JCL (Job Control Language) and CICS (Customer Information Control System)
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
