About the role

  • Design, deploy, and maintain VMware ESXi hosts, vCenter Server, and virtual machines across multiple sites.
  • Monitor and optimize virtual infrastructure performance, resource utilization, and system availability.
  • Implement and manage VMware networking components, including distributed switches and VLANs.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to VMware technologies, ensuring minimal downtime, to include performance bottlenecks, connectivity problems, and virtual machine management.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to design integrated infrastructure solutions aligned with command requirements.
  • Mentor junior administrators to enhance team expertise in virtualization technologies.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of related experience
  • CompTIA Security+ CE certification
  • Applicable DoD 8140 or DoD 8570 Certification (e.g., Security+, CISSP)
  • Proficiency in VMware technologies, including ESXi, vCenter Server, vSAN, and vSphere Networking
  • Strong understanding of virtualization concepts and practices
  • Excellent documentation, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a high-stakes environment
