About the role

  • Lead and direct long-term Service Sales strategy to increase preventative maintenance customer base and expand wallet share
  • Manage salespeople located nationally and sell within an assigned geography
  • Partner with Equipment and Rental sales leader to drive synergy and cross-sell products and services
  • Work with end-user customers to sell extended warranties and create maintenance programs
  • Set and implement marketing objectives to achieve sales goals
  • Set sales goals, manage activities/execution and manage the performance of salespeople at branch offices
  • Establish and implement short- and long-range goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures
  • Work with individual salespeople to develop market coverage and meet monthly and quarterly sales targets
  • Lead implementation strategy deployment with business group leadership
  • Design and direct the work of the functional area; select, coach, and develop the team
  • Manage organizational talent through performance management, succession planning and development
  • Design processes for performance recognition, feedback delivery, and systematic performance improvement
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience supervising sales and/or sales support teams & developing strategic growth plans
  • 5 - 7 years’ experience in a related or similar field
  • Proven track record in securing new sales, retaining current customer base, while driving growth
  • Ability to work independently in an entrepreneurial culture
  • Appropriate negotiation & complex account management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, & organizational skills
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving skills, initiative, and leadership
  • Proficiency in working in CRM and managing a sales forecast
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to interact effectively at all levels, lead and motivate cross-functional teams
  • Preferred: MBA
  • Working knowledge of the dynamics between distribution and the subsequent end-user
  • Proven success in developing and fostering business relationships with distributors, with a specific preference for industrial equipment markets
  • Preferred: Minimum of 15 years of experience supervising sales and/or sales support teams & developing strategic growth plans; 15 years’ experience in a related or similar field
