About the role
- Performs variant interpretation and writes reports.
- May act as subject matter expert for a group of genes, disorders, tests, and/or processes.
- Supports team efforts required to meet corporate and team goals and objectives.
- Abstracts clinical information from patient records.
- Manages urgent or complex cases at specific steps or throughout the testing process.
- Prepares or provides clinical review of materials for website, marketing materials, or other projects.
- Assists with populating variant, gene, or disease-specific test information, report language, or other clinical information in internal databases.
- Performs other duties assigned in support of the team or department.
Requirements
- Master’s degree from an accredited genetic counseling program.
- Prior clinical or laboratory experience preferred but not required.
- Certification by American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC) or equivalent.
- Genetic counseling licensure in the state where the employee works, if applicable.
