About the role
- Design, deploy, and manage data center infrastructure, including power distribution, cooling systems, network connectivity, and server hardware.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for Windows Server administration, including Active Directory, Group Policy, patch management, and performance tuning.
- Maintain and troubleshoot virtualization platforms such as VMware vSphere and Microsoft Hyper-V.
- Configure and support Veeam Backup & Replication solutions, ensuring robust backup, recovery, and disaster recovery capabilities.
- Collaborate with infrastructure and platform teams to develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code (IaC) using tools like Terraform and Ansible.
- Automate infrastructure management tasks using scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell).
- Implement and maintain robust physical and logical security measures within the data center environment.
- Monitor infrastructure performance, proactively identifying and resolving potential issues to ensure system reliability and efficiency.
- Troubleshoot complex hardware and software issues, coordinating with vendors for resolution as needed.
- Participate in the on-call rotation to provide 24/7 support for critical infrastructure components.
- Document infrastructure configurations, processes, and procedures to ensure knowledge sharing and operational consistency.
- Stay abreast of the latest technologies and industry best practices in data center infrastructure, virtualization, monitoring, containerization, and backup/recovery.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering or system administration, with 3+ years focused on Windows Server environments.
- Hands-on experience with Windows Server administration (Active Directory, DNS/DHCP, GPO, WSUS, file/print services).
- Strong understanding of core data center components: power, cooling, networking, and server hardware.
- Proficiency with virtualization platforms such as VMware vSphere and Microsoft Hyper-V.
- Experience implementing and managing Veeam Backup & Replication.
- Proficiency in infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Ansible.
- Familiarity with scripting and automation in languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Solid understanding of networking protocols and technologies (TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching).
- Experience with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or Veeam ONE.
- Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities, with the capacity to work independently and within cross-functional teams.
