Paralegal

• The individual in this role primarily supports attorneys with insurance defense litigation.
• This is a hands-on position that involves working collaboratively with clients and employees of the firm.
• Organizes and analyzes documentary evidence including contracts, records, medical records, reports, depositions, discovery, investigative and other documents and summaries.
• Interpretation and preparation of chronologies and summaries as requested.
• Under attorney direction drafts and prepares correspondence and other written documents as required including responses, reports, filings, pleadings, answers, motions, interrogatories, contracts, opinions, position papers, letters, etc., and other documents as necessary.
• Prepares and handles tracking and disposition of subpoenas or other requests for information.
• Ensures organization of files including maintenance and management.
• Communicates with clients, witnesses, experts.
• Monitors files and escalates issues requiring attorney involvement.
• Performs timely handling of highly sensitive issues and materials related to case.
• Maintains calendar for trial and discovery deadlines.
• Obtains trial settings, coordinates and assists in preparation.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Support attorneys in all aspects of case development, discovery, and trial preparation
• Organize and review documentary evidence, including medical records, incident reports, and investigative materials
• Draft pleadings, discovery responses, motions, subpoenas, and other legal correspondence
• Assist in deposition and trial preparation, including the creation of trial notebooks and exhibit lists
• Coordinate with clients, expert witnesses, court personnel, and opposing counsel
• Manage court deadlines, scheduling, and maintain up-to-date case calendars
• Monitor case progress and escalate time-sensitive issues to attorneys
• Conduct background research on parties, witnesses, and experts
• Handle document production, record requests, and subpoena tracking

Legal Assistant

• Assist attorneys defending civil defense litigation matters
• Draft and prepare correspondence and other written documents as required
• Maintain calendar for trial and discovery deadlines
• Schedule depositions, hearings, appointments, and other legal proceedings
• Ensure organization of files including opening, closing, management and maintenance of files
• Monitor files and escalate issues requiring attorney involvement
• Perform timely handling of highly sensitive issues and materials related to the case
• Assist attorneys with time entry on billing software
• Prepare and handle tracking and disposition of subpoenas or other requests for information as needed
• E-file documents using state and federal court databases
• Perform other duties as assigned
