About the role
- Support the Propulsion Plant Team Trainer (PPTT) project: design, production, testing, and delivery of advanced training simulators
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineers across multiple locations
- Review and disposition Supplier mechanical design submittals to validate designs based on technical requirements
- Interface with stakeholders to ensure project objectives are satisfied
- Review static structural analyses of designs
- Participate in design reviews and technical interchanges with Suppliers
- Ensure designs meet applicable engineering codes, standards, and manufacturability requirements
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university
- 3+ years of relevant experience
- United States (U.S.) citizenship required
- Ability to obtain and maintain a government issued clearance, if needed
- Experience with SolidWorks or equivalent 3D modeling software
- Experience with Model Based Design
- Experience supporting design reviews and technical interchanges with Suppliers
- Experience reviewing static structural analyses (e.g. FEA)
- Ability to review, understand, and apply relevant engineering codes and standards (e.g. ASME, AWS)
- Experience with Design for Manufacturability and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Experience reviewing designs for joining processes (e.g. welding)
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to think creatively and make recommendations to senior project personnel
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products
- Willingness to complete pre-employment drug screen and background check (per application)
