About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Build and maintain relationships across clinical, operational, health plan, and pharmacy functions, proactively seeking out unmet needs and AI opportunity areas that others have not surfaced
  • Conduct your own discovery sessions with frontline staff, department leaders, and subject matter experts, developing a genuine understanding of workflow pain points and strategic priorities
  • Research the market independently, tracking what AI vendors are building, what peer health systems are deploying, and where the evidence is strong enough to warrant Geisinger attention
  • Test ideas quickly using lightweight concept sketches, process maps, or rough prototypes to sharpen problem definitions and validate whether a proposed solution direction makes sense before deeper investment
  • Translate what you find into clear, structured opportunity briefs and problem statements that give leadership the information needed to make confident investment decisions
  • Support vendor evaluations by developing evaluation criteria, probing beneath sales narratives to assess production reality, and synthesizing findings into actionable recommendations
  • Maintain an honest, current view of the opportunity pipeline and share it regularly with the team so discovery work stays connected to portfolio priorities
  • Work closely with the AI product development organization to ensure that what you surface is actionable and that handoffs from discovery into delivery are clean
