About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Build and manage a team of engineers focused on delivering high-performance enterprise-wide products
Drive architecture, design, and end-to-end implementation of AI-powered solutions
Define strategy and execute a technical roadmap to increase product delivery velocity and unlock engineering capabilities
Improve application performance, capacity, availability, and reliability
Design and evolve cloud infrastructure and services
Address project dependencies, negotiate and estimate milestone delivery dates, and deliver projects on time
Identify project risks and present implementable solutions or alternatives
Report team progress and key project metrics
Understand how requirements and design choices affect systems across multiple areas
Support performance evaluations and cultivate a culture of motivation, achievement, and trust
Collaborate with product teams to address performance and resiliency issues
Address technical and analytical skill gaps and promote knowledge sharing
Contribute hands-on to architecture, system design, and implementation of core services, APIs, microservices, messaging, and storage/persistence
Drive process improvement, cost leadership, and customer experience enhancement
Manage upward to leadership and provide feedback
Contribute to team planning and construct roadmaps
Translate projects into deliverables and adjust priorities and team capacity

Requirements

What you’ll need

Extensive experience leading the design, implementation, and adoption of AI technologies
Hands-on expertise and deep understanding of AI/ML, generative AI, and enterprise-scale AI solutions
Fluency with C#/.NET, HTML5, JavaScript/TypeScript, XML, JSON, RESTful Web Services, and event-driven architectures
Fluency with at least one additional modern language such as Java, Python, or Go; open-source software experience is a plus
Ability to develop software hands-on at least 10–20% of the time
Strong knowledge of system design, architecture, and the full lifecycle of core services and APIs
Experience with unit, integration, functional, and performance testing
Strong foundation in algorithms, data structures, and core computer science concepts
Experience implementing RESTful and gRPC services, event-driven architecture, microservices, messaging technology, and storage/persistence approaches
Knowledge of cloud computing technologies and platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure
Experience with application monitoring tools and performance assessments
Understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases, including stateful services management and storage
Ability to construct, interpret, and apply metrics for decision-making and progress visibility
Strong site reliability engineering principles
Exceptional leadership and communication skills
Effective negotiation abilities and strategic thinking
6+ years of professional software engineering experience
5+ years of development in a large-scale, mission-critical environment
5+ years of hands-on experience supervising personnel in a technical environment
2+ years of experience with automated unit, integration, and end-to-end functional testing
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field, or equivalent experience
