Key responsibilities & impact

Build and manage a team of engineers with a focus on delivering Commercial Insurance products
Help drive business transformation from traditional IT model to a tech organization with engineering excellence
Innovate and build new engineering solutions and leverage existing solutions to solve operational problems
Lead execution of a technical roadmap to increase product delivery velocity and unlock new engineering capabilities
Enhance application performance, improve user experience, and drive efficient test automation
Collaborate with the engineering staff to improve and enhance existing solutions

Requirements

What you’ll need

Proven management experience leading teams of 5+ engineers
Strong background in delivering digital - web and/or mobile - products at scale
Ability to prioritize and drive results based on business value to the organization
Fluency with at least one modern language such as Python, Java
Strong critical thinking, decision making, and problem-solving skills
Proven ability to concentrate and demonstrate a capacity for learning technical concepts and adapting to new technologies quickly
Strong Cloud (AWS, GCP, Azure etc.) platform knowledge
Proficiency in Project Management and work item management tools such as GitHub and Azure DevOps
Strong foundation in algorithms, data structures, and core computer science concepts
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate to both Senior Leadership, highly technical and non-technical audiences
Proven experience with CI/CD pipelines and build and release practices in commercial insurance
8+ years of professional software engineering experience, including software development lifecycle best practices
5+ years of development in a large-scale, mission-critical environment
5+ years of hands-on work experience supervising personnel in a technical environment
2+ years' experience with automated testing including Unit, Integration, and End-to-End functional testing
