About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Develop robust associate-facing applications to enable business analytics, streamline internal processes, and drive business decisions
Work closely with Business Partners, Infrastructure Engineers, DevOps, and IT Security
Translate business requirements into technical design specifications for application system changes and new application systems
Code, debug, test, and document applications
Create, execute, and evaluate test plans for application systems
Configure servers
Research and implement software, services, and platforms to promote application-development best practices
Create plans for project tasks
Provide system training to team members as needed

Requirements

What you’ll need

1+ years of SQL, R, Python, or Power BI programming experience
1+ year of full-time relevant work experience in the US
BA/BS in a STEM related field, or equivalent work experience
Able to work a hybrid schedule based out of Bethesda, MD, Chicago, IL, or Cleveland, OH
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, constantly changing work environment
Ability to learn and apply large amounts of technical and procedural information and follow processes
Knowledge of infrastructure tools and management techniques
Ability to follow published standards and processes
Ability to provide system training to team members
Clear, concise, professional oral and written communication
Ability to perform under pressure and stressful situations
Capacity for learning technical concepts and adapting to new technologies quickly
Basic knowledge of Snowflake and/or other Enterprise Data Warehouse databases (preferred)
1+ years of IT infrastructure and DevOps teams experience (preferred)
Must be authorized to work in the US; GEICO will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization
