About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Execute contractual obligations according to customer requirements and daily site activities
Maintain, repair, or replace parts to correct malfunctions
Troubleshoot complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical problems on variable-pitch and variable-speed turbines
Support all areas of site operations as directed by the manager with minimal supervision
Perform diagnostic electrical analysis
Document all work performed using computer-based service reporting procedures
Work with and respond to GE’s remote operations center when necessary
Partner and communicate with the Site Lead and Manager to meet contract requirements and timelines
Work at all wind sites within Texas Hub 9 as assigned by the manager

Requirements

What you’ll need

High School Diploma or GED
Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Wind Technician or Wind Mechanic; OR minimum of 2 years of work experience inclusive of hydraulic and electrical experience, experience using basic power hydraulic tools, and passing a Technical Knowledge Assessment
Basic computer skills
Valid driver’s license must be obtained and maintained
Ability and willingness to lift repetitive weight of up to 45 lbs. unassisted
Ability and willingness to climb towers of 300+ feet regularly
Must meet specified manufacturer weight limits not to exceed 300 lbs. including required gear
Understanding of electrical schematic drawings, technical manuals, procedures, and regulations
Ability and willingness to work in industrial, manufacturing, and power industry facilities
Flexibility to work rotating shift schedules and on-call according to site needs
Legally authorized to work in the United States
Successful completion of a drug screen, as applicable
