About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Execute contractual obligations according to customer requirements and daily site activities
- Maintain, repair, or replace parts to correct malfunctions
- Troubleshoot complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical problems on variable-pitch and variable-speed turbines
- Support all areas of site operations as directed by the manager with minimal supervision
- Perform diagnostic electrical analysis
- Document all work performed using computer-based service reporting procedures
- Work with and respond to GE’s remote operations center when necessary
- Partner and communicate with the Site Lead and Manager to meet contract requirements and timelines
- Work at all wind sites within Texas Hub 9 as assigned by the manager
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Wind Technician or Wind Mechanic; OR minimum of 2 years of work experience inclusive of hydraulic and electrical experience, experience using basic power hydraulic tools, and passing a Technical Knowledge Assessment
- Basic computer skills
- Valid driver’s license must be obtained and maintained
- Ability and willingness to lift repetitive weight of up to 45 lbs. unassisted
- Ability and willingness to climb towers of 300+ feet regularly
- Must meet specified manufacturer weight limits not to exceed 300 lbs. including required gear
- Understanding of electrical schematic drawings, technical manuals, procedures, and regulations
- Ability and willingness to work in industrial, manufacturing, and power industry facilities
- Flexibility to work rotating shift schedules and on-call according to site needs
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- Successful completion of a drug screen, as applicable
