About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Collect, organize, and analyze transportation and logistics data from multiple sources
  • Maintain shipment trackers, logistics dashboards, KPI reports, and cost databases
  • Support analysis of freight spend, shipment volumes, transportation modes, carriers, and project activity
  • Assist with monthly and quarterly logistics reporting
  • Identify data gaps and opportunities to improve data quality
  • Support standardized reporting and data-management processes
  • Track transportation costs against project logistics budgets
  • Compare carrier quotations and transportation alternatives
  • Assist with freight cost benchmarking, historical cost analysis, and variance analysis
  • Identify and document logistics cost-saving opportunities
  • Maintain shipment and delivery information for active projects
  • Track planned ship dates, pickup dates, transit status, and delivery dates
  • Support project reporting, documentation, logistics planning, and transportation RFQs
  • Track and report logistics KPIs, including on-time pickup and delivery, freight spend, budget versus actual cost, carrier performance, shipment volumes, transit performance, and logistics savings or cost avoidance
  • Prepare scorecards and management reports
  • Analyze trends and highlight potential performance issues
  • Develop and maintain standardized logistics templates, trackers, dashboards, and reporting tools
  • Document logistics processes, workflows, and standard work
  • Reduce manual reporting and improve data visibility
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives across the Logistics organization

Requirements

  • Internship role supporting logistics and supply chain operations
  • Ability to collect, organize, and analyze transportation and logistics data from multiple sources

  • Ability to support freight spend, shipment volume, transportation mode, carrier, budget-versus-actual, and variance analysis
  • Ability to compare carrier quotations and transportation alternatives
  • Ability to track transportation milestones and maintain project logistics documentation
  • Ability to use Excel, Smartsheet, Power BI, or similar tools
  • Ability to document logistics processes, workflows, and standard work
  • Ability to identify data gaps, inconsistencies, performance issues, and cost-saving opportunities
  • Ability to collaborate with Logistics, Project Management, Sourcing, Finance, and other cross-functional stakeholders
