About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and maintain project cost execution plans, cost curves, budgets, forecasts, and detailed weekly/monthly cost reports across assigned project scopes
  • Monitor actual and committed costs against budget and forecast
  • Identify cost variances, determine root causes, assess cost-to-complete, and recommend mitigation actions
  • Partner with budget owners, Project Managers, and schedulers to align project schedules, cost curves, forecasts, and Bill of Quantity tracking
  • Maintain budget and forecast version control
  • Ensure approved changes, variation orders, and change orders are accurately reflected in project financials
  • Perform project risk and opportunity analysis
  • Monitor cost risks and action plans
  • Conduct ad-hoc analysis of potential cost headwinds and overruns
  • Prepare cost information and analysis for project management reviews
  • Communicate project cost performance, risks, and opportunities to key stakeholders
  • Coordinate cost estimates and financial analysis for change orders and claims
  • Track actual versus planned spend against approved changes
  • Support continuous improvement of cost-control processes, tools, reporting, and operating rhythms
  • Share lessons learned with Sales, ITO, IPM, and other stakeholders to improve future bids and project budgets

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, Accounting, Project Management, or a related discipline
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in project cost control, cost analysis, project controls, project management, quality, or a related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with project budgeting, forecasting, cost-to-complete analysis, data analysis, and/or cost reporting
  • Experience supporting complex engineering, manufacturing, construction, energy, or infrastructure projects preferred
  • Experience analyzing actual and committed costs, identifying cost variances and risks, and supporting corrective or mitigation actions
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including experience analyzing and reporting project financial data
  • Experience with project cost-management, ERP, or project controls systems preferred
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and data accuracy
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate across Project Management, Finance, Engineering, Sales, and other cross-functional teams
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Successful completion of a drug screen, as applicable
