About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead projects for the Application & Project Engineering team, delivering wing-to-wing customer solutions for Equipment projects from competitive proposal through execution
- Provide technical guidance to manufacturing, sourcing, project management, and external customers
- Execute OTR project engineering with a global team to develop technical solutions and deliver Customizations (CGERs)
- Create and review Bills of Material from product Features and Options (VCC)
- Develop customer drawing packages incorporating requested customizations
- Review build books and build plans, and prepare ECO markups to update BOMs for manufacturing
- Prepare and process supplier technical specifications and approve supplier drawing releases for compliance with project CTQs
- Provide product clarification and answer customer questions; resolve site issues with installation and commissioning teams
- Prepare customer meeting presentations and participate in kick-off meetings and project execution discussions
- Lead design Toll Gate reviews with Chief Engineers on project NPI designs
- Review design and risk mitigation needs and communicate modifications to manufacturing and sourcing teams
- Present technical design reviews to managers and technical leaders; identify IP and Position Paper ideas and record IDLs
- Execute T&RS compliance items and ensure package compliance with local codes and regulations
- Identify and execute project savings and available-parts utilization opportunities
- Create new parts with the Part COE team as needed to complete project BOMs
- Execute CGER technical activities, including drawing redlines to standards, parts creation, and specifications
- Attend project meetings and provide technical support for Engineering Release, HOM, CKOM, PSE Handover, and Customer Meetings
- Resolve project-related issues with shop and testing teams during manufacturing and testing
- Apply configuration trades and studies
- Collaborate with manufacturing engineering focal points to reduce COQ
- Communicate significant issues and developments to senior leadership
- Develop Standard Work Instructions for ITR processes and procedures
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field
- Minimum of eight (8) years of relevant work experience related to bills of materials, manufacturing, drawing creation, drawing change management, mechanical engineering, and product design
- Minimum of four (4) years of Gas Turbine related work experience with strong understanding of gas turbines-based packages including auxiliary systems and balance of plant equipment
- Minimum of four (4) years of focused customer service and fulfillment experience
- Proven expertise in Gas Turbine & Power augmentation, Gas Turbine Installation and Foundations, Fuel systems design, Hydraulic systems design, Lube oil systems, and TR&S compliance, codes & standards
- Minimum of eight (8) years of exposure to power generation equipment manufacturing or packaging
- Practical knowledge of Lean Six Sigma and problem-solving techniques
- Strong knowledge of Aeroderivate gas turbine and package with demonstrated technical capability
