About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Oversee the full lifecycle of on-site project delivery
- Direct civil, mechanical erection, and commissioning activities
- Manage site resources, schedules, and stakeholder expectations
- Act as the primary site authority
- Manage departmental operations with technical precision and focus on project milestones
- Ensure work aligns with project goals and corporate safety standards
- Lead the site team and manage execution of the project scope of work
- Manage multiple sites when required
- Ensure schedule, quality, and cost comply with contractual obligations, company policy, and local regulations
- Manage staffing and performance development
- Meet defined EHS targets
- Ensure quality of work, documentation, and reporting
- Ensure on-time delivery and availability of materials, resources, and workmanship
- Maintain client site team satisfaction
- Potentially manage a night shift in coordination with the lead site manager
- Prepare offers, cost estimates, and mobilization activities between sites
- Work at site in indoor and outdoor environments with exposure to various weather conditions
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college and 7 years of relevant experience; OR high school diploma/GED with 10+ years of prior hydro/generation experience in a supervisor capacity
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 90%
- Experience in a supervisor capacity for hydro/generation projects, where applicable
- Ability to respect and proactively follow site EHS safety instructions
- Ability to report quality issues and non-conformities and ensure the site quality plan is respected
- Ability to lead, motivate, and empower staff
- Excellent communication skills
- Skilled duties involving shaft line alignment, bearing settings, mechanical precision tools and measurements, and setting on-site machining tools
- Ability to read and understand manuals, drawings, plans, and specifications
- Clear and concise oral and written communication
- Effective working relationships with contacts encountered in the course of work
- Problem-solving capability and ability to work under pressure
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems
- Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs
- Established project management skills
- Similar site manager position experience in other hydro sites in the US
- Excellent computer skills and MS Office knowledge
- Legal authorization to work in the United States
- Successful completion of a drug screen, as applicable
