About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide day-to-day EHS support at manufacturing sites and fixed facilities
- Ensure regulatory compliance with permits, reporting requirements, policies, environmental regulations, guidelines, and permit requirements
- Help manage injury reports and care management
- Conduct EHS audits, inspections, and compliance assurance activities
- Provide tactical issue resolution
- Identify and address EHS issues related to site operations and equipment with the operations team
- Conduct EHS training for forklifts, cranes, and other equipment
- Assist with EHS program implementation, identify gaps, and provide improvement guidance
- Maintain continuous shop-floor presence
- Partner with operations leadership and hourly employees to promote and reinforce safety practices
- Follow up on ATS findings, employee concerns, and Gensuite compliance calendar tasks
- Participate in EHS incident investigations
- Develop and maintain area risk assessments
- Provide EHS support for changes such as new machine installations and layout changes
- Participate in GE EHS initiatives and programs
- Provide expert advice, guidance, and direct assistance to ensure site compliance
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in Health & Safety, Environmental Services, or similar (desired but not required)
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in EHS with a focus in a manufacturing/industrial environment
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- Successful completion of a drug screen, as applicable
