About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop detailed commissioning plans, schedules, and execution strategies
  • Coordinate with project management, engineering, construction, and operations teams
  • Support system turnover and start-up plans
  • Lead and supervise commissioning personnel, subcontractors, and field teams
  • Oversee testing, inspection, and validation of gas turbines, steam turbines, generators, HRSGs, and auxiliary equipment
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical or operational issues during commissioning and start-up
  • Ensure systems are ready for safe and reliable operation
  • Complete and maintain commissioning procedures, test records, punch lists, and turnover documentation
  • Prepare progress updates, reports, and technical findings
  • Maintain records of system status, deficiencies, and resolutions
  • Promote safety culture and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental requirements
  • Implement site safety protocols and participate in risk assessments, hazard reviews, and mitigation planning
  • Ensure work complies with applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Serve as a key contact for clients, contractors, partners, and regulatory representatives
  • Provide technical guidance and operational support to plant operators and commissioning team members
  • Foster communication across teams for issue resolution and project delivery

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field)
  • Minimum of 3 years of commissioning experience in the power generation industry
  • Willingness and ability to travel at the construction site within the Americas for long-term assignments
  • Strong leadership and project coordination skills at installation/construction sites
  • Problem-solving and analytical capabilities
  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced project environment
  • Strong communication and organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Experience working in cross-functional and multicultural project teams
  • Ability to adapt to changing project priorities and site conditions
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Successful completion of a drug screen, as applicable
