About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop detailed commissioning plans, schedules, and execution strategies
- Coordinate with project management, engineering, construction, and operations teams
- Support system turnover and start-up plans
- Lead and supervise commissioning personnel, subcontractors, and field teams
- Oversee testing, inspection, and validation of gas turbines, steam turbines, generators, HRSGs, and auxiliary equipment
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical or operational issues during commissioning and start-up
- Ensure systems are ready for safe and reliable operation
- Complete and maintain commissioning procedures, test records, punch lists, and turnover documentation
- Prepare progress updates, reports, and technical findings
- Maintain records of system status, deficiencies, and resolutions
- Promote safety culture and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental requirements
- Implement site safety protocols and participate in risk assessments, hazard reviews, and mitigation planning
- Ensure work complies with applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements
- Serve as a key contact for clients, contractors, partners, and regulatory representatives
- Provide technical guidance and operational support to plant operators and commissioning team members
- Foster communication across teams for issue resolution and project delivery
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field)
- Minimum of 3 years of commissioning experience in the power generation industry
- Willingness and ability to travel at the construction site within the Americas for long-term assignments
- Strong leadership and project coordination skills at installation/construction sites
- Problem-solving and analytical capabilities
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced project environment
- Strong communication and organizational skills with attention to detail
- Experience working in cross-functional and multicultural project teams
- Ability to adapt to changing project priorities and site conditions
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- Successful completion of a drug screen, as applicable
