About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform system value optimization work, making tradeoffs in loads, stability, operation, and product performance
- Help perform feasibility studies and develop tech charts
- Prepare loads inputs, create simulation models, execute loads simulations, and perform post-processing
- Perform basic operability checks and frequency-domain stability checks
- Hand off model and controller parameters to MLA
- Update load envelopes
- Prepare certification load packages and documentation
- Help address questions from certification bodies
- Prepare co-simulations for prototype and fleet leader validation activities
- Help resolve gaps between simulations and field measurements
- Help develop advancements in load methods and update DP and standard work
- Help improve the loads pre- and post-processing toolchain, excluding One Wind tools
- Help prepare design reviews and technical underwriting documents
- Help assess risk and develop mitigation strategies
- Help update loads DFMEA
- Support lean and industrialization initiatives
Requirements
What you’ll need- B.S. in Mechanical, Wind, Systems, or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university (or equivalent)
- Technical awareness about preparing loads for wind turbines
- Problem solving skills for complex problems
- Software development skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills, clarity of thought, and ability to defend a technical position
