About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Execute contractual obligations and customer-required daily activities with site/hub leadership
- Work on electrical and mechanical equipment used in GE wind turbine generators
- Apply knowledge of variable-pitch and variable-speed turbines and converter parts
- Read, understand, and explain schematics, drawings, technical manuals, procedures, and regulations
- Adhere to Environmental Health and Safety processes, regulations, and compliance requirements
- Troubleshoot complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical problems on variable-pitch and variable-speed turbines
- Support all areas of site operations with minimal supervision while observing safety requirements
- Perform diagnostic analysis and generate plans for timely resolution
- Document work using computer-based service reporting procedures
- Work with GE’s remote operations center when necessary
- Mentor peers
- Travel locally among all wind sites within Oklahoma Hub 2 and report to assigned sites
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to pass a Technical Knowledge Assessment
- Either 4+ years of wind trouble-shooting experience and 1+ year in an EHS, SQC, or Lead role, or 5+ years of wind trouble-shooting experience
- Basic computer skills
- Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license
- Willingness to travel up to 100% of the time within Oklahoma Hub 2
- Ability to handle repetitive weight of 50 lbs.
- Ability to climb towers up to 300 feet daily
- Must meet and maintain manufacturer weight limits not exceeding 300 lbs., including required gear
- Ability and willingness to work in industrial, manufacturing, and power industry facilities
- Ability to prioritize work according to contract obligations
- Ability and willingness to take initiative and work without direct supervision
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts and be on-call per site needs
- Occasional overnights may be required
- Ability to work with electrical, mechanical, and/or hydraulic systems
- Experience using hydraulic power tools
- Experience with heavy equipment for facility maintenance, including working knowledge of crane and rigging requirements
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Successful completion of a drug screen, as applicable
