About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Report solid line to the General Manager, Design Engineering
- Provide program leadership for a diverse team and ensure on-time and on-budget delivery of design product programs
- Establish and manage technical interfaces between all internal and external parties involved in the program
- Maintain working relationships with engineering team managers, business leaders, and stakeholders
- Interface with external partners, customers, and country-specific regulatory agencies on technical issues
- Build estimates and schedules, manage change orders, and respond to corrective actions with functional engineering teams
- Coordinate engineering interfaces and drive resolution of technical issues across disciplines, product management, partners, subcontractors, and customers
- Report program progress, performance, and manpower utilization, including delays, adverse trends, errors, and omissions
- Manage budgetary risks and opportunities with Product/Projects, Finance, and Operations
- Support business vision and strategy for new plant initiatives and strategic programs
- Present product/program strategies, technical roadmaps, risks, and recommendations to senior leaders
- Guide leadership on management of external resources and quality of deliverables
- Protect GVH intellectual property rights
- Ensure adherence to GVH nuclear safety and compliance standards
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or related science or technical discipline
- At least 8 years of progressive experience in engineering design and/or project leadership experience
- At least 6 years of experience in the nuclear industry or equivalent large scale new build experience in the power industry
- Practitioner and / or expert of Lean practices
- Experience with European customers, projects and combined heat and power applications
- Proven ability to be a liaison between organizations operating in separate geographic locations
- Proven interpersonal and leadership skills
- Experience with project management skillset (communication, risk, planning/scheduling, change mgmt)
- EPC experience and knowledge, specifically power plant
- Understanding of nuclear industry and technology
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to document, plan, market and manage programs
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- Ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information, if applicable
- Successful completion of a drug screen, as applicable
