About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage assigned electrical commodities for the Gas Power Heavy Duty New Units business segment
- Support development of supplier panels that meet or exceed GEV expectations
- Negotiate with suppliers to achieve optimal contractual conditions while meeting project expectations
- Manage commercial aspects of purchase orders with suppliers for assigned commodities
- Contribute to supplier strategy, including management and optimization of supplier panels
- Determine suppliers to solicit quotes from for specific project demands
- Lead negotiations and involve the global commodity leader for key strategic material
- Allocate demands to specific suppliers
- Ensure selected suppliers can meet all GEV requirements and gain internal buy-in for exceptions
- Manage purchase order changes
- Manage commercial claims regarding supplier delivery and quality issues
- Develop content expertise for assigned commodities with cross-functional stakeholders
- Identify and support process improvement activities
- Communicate and resolve complex issues while building stakeholder consensus and commitment
- Use persuasion skills to influence others
- Use sound judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks and issues
- Use technical experience, data analytics, and cross-functional inputs to support recommendations
Requirements
What you’ll need- Knowledge level comparable to a Bachelor degree from an accredited university or college, or a high school diploma with relevant experience
- Prior experience in Sourcing & Commodity Management welcomed
- Fluent English language skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Ability to analyze and resolve problems
- Ability to lead programs / projects
- Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs
- Established project management skills
- Approximately 10% travel
