About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Manage assigned electrical commodities for the Gas Power Heavy Duty New Units business segment
Support development of supplier panels that meet or exceed GEV expectations
Negotiate with suppliers to achieve optimal contractual conditions while meeting project expectations
Manage commercial aspects of purchase orders with suppliers for assigned commodities
Contribute to supplier strategy, including management and optimization of supplier panels
Determine suppliers to solicit quotes from for specific project demands
Lead negotiations and involve the global commodity leader for key strategic material
Allocate demands to specific suppliers
Ensure selected suppliers can meet all GEV requirements and gain internal buy-in for exceptions
Manage purchase order changes
Manage commercial claims regarding supplier delivery and quality issues
Develop content expertise for assigned commodities with cross-functional stakeholders
Identify and support process improvement activities
Communicate and resolve complex issues while building stakeholder consensus and commitment
Use persuasion skills to influence others
Use sound judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks and issues
Use technical experience, data analytics, and cross-functional inputs to support recommendations

Requirements

What you’ll need

Knowledge level comparable to a Bachelor degree from an accredited university or college, or a high school diploma with relevant experience
Prior experience in Sourcing & Commodity Management welcomed
Fluent English language skills
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Ability to analyze and resolve problems
Ability to lead programs / projects
Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs
Established project management skills
Approximately 10% travel
