About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage assigned electrical commodities for the Gas Power Heavy Duty New Units business segment
  • Support development of supplier panels that meet or exceed GE Vernova’s expectations
  • Negotiate with suppliers to achieve optimal contractual conditions while meeting project expectations
  • Manage all commercial aspects of supplier purchase orders for assigned commodities
  • Define supplier strategy, including management and optimization of supplier panels
  • Determine suppliers to solicit quotes from for specific project demands
  • Lead negotiations for critical scope and allocate demands to specific suppliers
  • Ensure selected suppliers can meet all GE Vernova requirements and gain internal buy-in for exceptions
  • Coordinate supplier awards and purchase order placement with the Procurement team
  • Manage purchase order changes
  • Manage commercial claims regarding delivery and quality issues
  • Develop content expertise for assigned commodities
  • Identify and support process improvement activities
  • Communicate and resolve complex issues while building stakeholder consensus and commitment
  • Influence others using persuasion skills
  • Act as a resource for less experienced colleagues
  • Use sound judgment to make decisions and solve moderately complex tasks and issues
  • Use technical experience, data analytics, and cross-functional inputs to support recommendations

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Knowledge level comparable to a Bachelor/Master's degree from an accredited university or college, or a high school diploma with relevant experience
  • Significant experience in Sourcing & Commodity Management
  • Fluent English language skills
  • Master's Degree in Supply Chain or related field
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems
  • Demonstrated ability to lead programs/projects
  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs
  • Established project management skills
  • Approximately 10% travel
