About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop, manage, and deliver the means and methods of the commissioning execution strategy, schedule, and cost
- Ensure project milestones are achieved on time and within budget
- Ensure activities comply with the site EHS plan and defined safe systems of work
- Coordinate contractual tests with the customer and ensure contract adequacy
- Turn over systems to the customer without defects and follow up on punch-list items
- Manage, assess, supervise, support, and promote commissioning personnel
- Ensure quality compliance by delegating responsibilities, completing required inspections, tests, and witness points, and obtaining or producing quality records
- Perform commissioning according to specifications, engineering and commissioning documents, safety instructions, environmental measures, and local regulations
- Accept system turnover from construction to commissioning and execute turnover from commissioning to the customer according to procedures and contract
- Manage, perform, coordinate, and monitor commissioning of systems within scope according to schedule, contract, and coordination with the Site Manager, project management, and customer
- Review project risks and follow up on mitigation planning and execution
- Identify and analyze technical problems, monitor defects, find solutions, obtain technical support, and report problems
- Act as a resource for less-experienced colleagues
- Lead small, low-risk projects and help bring team members to consensus
- Convey performance expectations and handle sensitive issues
Requirements
What you’ll need- Commissioning experience and knowledge on Combined Cycle Power Plants (CCPP) and Aeroderivative Power Plants
- Experience leading a team of supervisors and technicians in pre-commissioning and commissioning execution
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related field from an accredited university or college, or a high school diploma/GED with at least 10 years of commissioning experience
- Willingness to travel worldwide for long-term assignments
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems
- Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs
- Established project management skills
- Experience holding a Commissioning Manager role for CCPP or other power plant types
- Strong team-player and motivational skills with influence and persuasion
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- Successful completion of a drug screen, as applicable
