About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage electrical activities on-site during installation, commissioning, and maintenance of upgrade projects or new installations
- Oversee installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and diagnostics for GEV EX2100e and LS2100e electrical systems
- Plan, organize, integrate, and direct labor, tools, and materials to complete contractual work scopes
- Install, commission, and troubleshoot excitation panels, LCI systems, digital generator protection panels, and supporting wiring systems for gas and steam turbines
- Ensure correct installation, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and maintenance practices
- Provide technical expertise and direction to customers, service support, field technicians, and operators
- Prepare timely and accurate internal and external reports
- Ensure contractual obligations are met and attend technical meetings with customers
- Carry out field activities safely in compliance with EHS guidelines and procedures
- Provide consultation on complex projects and technical support for OEM packaged products
- Support customer satisfaction and business growth initiatives
- Trace software documentation and implement control constant, sequencing, hardware, software, and excitation control system changes
- Work with EX2000, EX2100, LS2100, and LS2100e systems, including analog and digital controls and logic
- Direct wiring installation and termination, functionality checks, and troubleshooting of turbine excitation and LCI systems
- Perform start-up and shutdown sequencing and turbine/generator operations
- Conduct pre-outage and installation planning and administer policies and procedures as needed
- Travel frequently, work offshore and in restricted countries, and work holidays, weekends, and overtime as required by field assignments
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in engineering and 5 years of experience, or 8 years of experience without a formal degree
- Experience in power plant maintenance, turbine generator maintenance, or power plant electrical equipment installation/commissioning
- Experience with GEV electrical systems, including EX2000, EX2100, EX2100e, LS2100, LS2100e, and GPP systems
- Experience with gas turbine driver control systems, auxiliary systems, and integration with excitation/LCI systems
- Familiarity with instruments, controls, and PLCs
- Ability to frequently travel, work offshore, and work in restricted countries
- Ability and willingness to work holidays, weekends, and overtime as required by field assignments
- Qualified level knowledge and skills to support outages and identify sources for technical answers
- Experience with successful installations and outages
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
