About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage a high-complexity caseload and provide rapid, accurate, practical troubleshooting guidance for customer concerns
- Ensure technical recommendations are sound, safe, and aligned with fleet reliability standards
- Evaluate turbine performance issues using knowledge of turbine subsystem behavior and holistic system interactions
- Conduct technical reviews of cases
- Perform and lead investigations into recurring fleet issues, identify systemic failure patterns, conduct root cause analyses, and develop technical solutions
- Analyze fleet data to identify performance and reliability trends
- Develop technical strategies or design improvements to prevent recurring issues and enhance long-term turbine availability
- Bridge site operations, product engineering, and services teams
- Provide expert technical counsel to internal stakeholders on multidisciplinary challenges
- Maintain high standards of technical documentation and communication
- Provide informal technical guidance and mentorship to peer engineers
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
- 5+ years of professional experience in gear boxes, mechanical engineering, turbine systems, fleet support, or services engineering
- Expert-level understanding of turbine subsystem behavior, performance monitoring, and advanced troubleshooting methods
- Demonstrated ability to perform detailed root cause analysis (RCA) and convert technical data into actionable engineering solutions
- Proven ability to manage multiple complex technical issues independently in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment
- Strong analytical skills and ability to synthesize data-driven insights into engineering recommendations
- Excellent technical communication skills and ability to explain complex mechanical phenomena to internal stakeholders and customers
- Hands-on experience with gas turbine fleet operations or field service engineering preferred
- Proficiency in reliability engineering methodologies and fleet performance analytics preferred
- Experience documenting technical standards, troubleshooting playbooks, or engineering best practices preferred
- Capacity to climb wind turbines
- Able to travel >15% of the time
