About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Integrate cyber security into CI/CD pipelines and software lifecycles
Support the configuration and implementation of utility-grade software
Collaborate with expert engineers to identify risks and automate operational efficiency
Gain hands-on exposure to how software platforms interact with Operational Technology (OT) and IT environments
Support secure software solutions within Distributed Energy Resource Management Systems (DERMS) for the modern digital electricity grid

Requirements

What you’ll need

Ability to commit for a minimum of 6 months
Ability to work 3 days per week during the semester or 5 days per week during semester breaks
Currently enrolled in Computer Science, Engineering, or IT
Minimum 75% WAM
Students enrolled in a double degree in these disciplines will also be considered
Previous cyber security vacation work or internship experience within a utility, electricity, energy, or critical-infrastructure organisation would be advantageous
Strong interest in DevSecOps, DERMS, and grid-management technology
Experience with Git, CI/CD, Python/Bash, Docker/Kubernetes, or cloud platforms is advantageous
Knowledge of OT/ICS security or SCADA systems is advantageous
Ability to monitor, read, and respond to contact outside normal working hours may be expected
Submit a CV and short statement of no more than one page
