About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Integrate cyber security into CI/CD pipelines and software lifecycles
- Support the configuration and implementation of utility-grade software
- Collaborate with expert engineers to identify risks and automate operational efficiency
- Gain hands-on exposure to how software platforms interact with Operational Technology (OT) and IT environments
- Support secure software solutions within Distributed Energy Resource Management Systems (DERMS) for the modern digital electricity grid
Requirements
What you’ll need- Ability to commit for a minimum of 6 months
- Ability to work 3 days per week during the semester or 5 days per week during semester breaks
- Currently enrolled in Computer Science, Engineering, or IT
- Minimum 75% WAM
- Students enrolled in a double degree in these disciplines will also be considered
- Previous cyber security vacation work or internship experience within a utility, electricity, energy, or critical-infrastructure organisation would be advantageous
- Strong interest in DevSecOps, DERMS, and grid-management technology
- Experience with Git, CI/CD, Python/Bash, Docker/Kubernetes, or cloud platforms is advantageous
- Knowledge of OT/ICS security or SCADA systems is advantageous
- Ability to monitor, read, and respond to contact outside normal working hours may be expected
- Submit a CV and short statement of no more than one page
