About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own the operating system for Heavy-Duty Services Engineering, including priorities, operating strategy, reviews, action tracking, leadership follow-up, and management cadences
  • Lead global demand-capacity planning and resource deployment across customer commitments, strategic programs, technical risk reduction, and productivity commitments
  • Maintain visibility into capacity, demand, resource constraints, contractor usage, labor productivity, and financial performance
  • Support budget planning, operating plan execution, forecast accuracy, voucher and cost-center discipline, and productivity tracking for an approximately $220MM operating budget
  • Define and improve dashboards, bowler metrics, and business intelligence mechanisms tracking organizational health and execution performance
  • Drive lean operating rigor, standard work, daily management, KPI development, problem solving, waste elimination, Hoshin Kanri deployment, and breakthrough-priority governance
  • Partner with quality, product safety, technical compliance, and engineering leaders to strengthen process and design quality
  • Translate priorities into executable plans, governance, milestones, metrics, risk reviews, and stakeholder alignment
  • Provide operational leadership for Engineering 2030, productivity actions, value stream improvements, capability development, and operating model improvements
  • Interface with cross-functional stakeholders and represent the organization in Gas Power Engineering operations forums
  • Act as trusted proxy and operating partner to the Executive Director, preparing executive materials and resolving cross-functional roadblocks
  • Lead organizational communications, including leadership updates, operating reviews, All-Hands content, newsletters, and business updates
  • Lead assigned operations resources with 12 reports, coach for performance, support development planning, and build organizational capability

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or comparable 4-year technical degree from an accredited university or college
  • 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in engineering, engineering operations, program management, lifecycle management, product engineering, project engineering, or a related industrial technology environment
  • Ability to lead operating rhythms, resource planning, and large-scale cross-functional initiatives in a global, matrixed organization
  • Deep technical knowledge of Gas Power products, engineering lifecycle processes, and power plant systems
  • Experience using KPIs, business intelligence tools such as Power BI or Tableau, and Lean fundamentals
  • Extensive experience managing teams and building consensus across diverse functions, regions, and leadership levels
  • Strong capability in financial planning, productivity, and cost management
  • Capability to prepare and present high-level materials for executive leadership
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Successful completion of a drug screen, as applicable
