About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide technical leadership to a small group of engineers and contractors on analyses, calculations, and technical evaluations
- Manage project work schedules and priorities
- Mentor and provide technical leadership to engineers and projects
- Execute work plans within budget and schedule in a team environment
- Support civil systems design and equipment construction activities
- Respond to vendor questions and deviation requests
- Review and approve vendor document submittals
- Support GE product certification processes for US NRC and other nuclear regulatory requirements
- Maintain technical oversight of applicable US, national, and global regulations
- Interface with customers, suppliers, partners, licensing organizations, the NRC, and international regulatory authorities
- Incorporate design requirements into analyses and design documents
- Support GEH quality requirements and participate in design reviews
- Manage design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned systems using sound engineering principles
- Document technical data according to engineering policies and procedures
- Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering
- 5 years of civil engineering analysis and design experience
- Registered professional certification desired
- Concrete and material testing experience
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- Must be a U.S. person due to access to export-controlled technology
- Willingness and ability to travel occasionally
- Ability and willingness to obtain and maintain a site security clearance, including NRC-required background check
- Ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information, if applicable
