About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage a high-complexity caseload and provide troubleshooting guidance to resolve customer concerns
- Ensure technical recommendations are sound, safe, and aligned with fleet reliability standards
- Evaluate turbine performance issues using knowledge of subsystem behavior
- Conduct comprehensive technical reviews considering holistic system interactions
- Perform and lead technical investigations into recurring fleet issues
- Identify systemic failure patterns and conduct root cause analyses
- Develop technical solutions addressing underlying performance degradation
- Analyze fleet data to identify performance and reliability trends
- Develop technical strategies or design improvements to prevent recurring issues and improve turbine availability
- Act as a technical bridge between site operations, product engineering, and services teams
- Provide expert technical counsel to internal stakeholders
- Maintain technical documentation and communication standards
- Provide informal guidance and technical mentorship to peer engineers
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
- Strong and proven experience in mechanical engineering, main bearings, lubrication systems, mechanical turbine systems, fleet support, or services engineering
- Expert-level understanding of turbine subsystem behavior, performance monitoring, and advanced troubleshooting methods
- Demonstrated ability to perform detailed root cause analysis (RCA) and convert technical data into actionable engineering solutions
- Proven ability to manage multiple complex technical issues independently in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment
- Strong analytical skills and ability to synthesize data-driven insights into engineering recommendations
- Excellent technical communication skills and ability to explain complex mechanical phenomena to internal stakeholders and customers
- Ability to climb to wind turbines and travel more than 15% of the time
