About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Execute assigned Boiler projects within specified timelines, including erection and commissioning, inspection, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance, or upgrade jobs
  • Lead commissioning and tuning operations during installation of new equipment, renovation jobs, and re-commissioning of boilers and allied equipment
  • Apply safety interlock knowledge for Burner Management System (BMS) or Furnace Safeguard Supervisory System (FSSS)
  • Perform combustion modification tuning for NOx control
  • Inspect and monitor the performance of firing systems and pulverisers
  • Interact with cross-functional teams to deliver project scope on time
  • Report daily to the Field Service Head and Project Manager on site progress and the next-day program
  • Lead long-term planning for successful site execution
  • Manage complex issues and technical solutions
  • Interface with internal and external customers at all levels

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor degree/Diploma from a government accredited university/institute or other institutes, preferably in C&I or electronics engineering
  • Additional qualification in a similar field is given weightage in selection
  • At least 10–15 years of experience in erection, commissioning, or operation services for boiler field service and auxiliary commissioning and operation
  • In-depth knowledge of control systems
  • Ability to develop and implement boiler/BOP control logics and interlocks in DCS/PLC
  • Boiler component troubleshooting and performance-checking knowledge
  • Experience in pre-commissioning and commissioning activities in a thermal power plant
  • Commissioning and operation experience in pulverized-fuel-fired boilers and auxiliaries
  • Willingness to travel from site to site and accept long-term site deputation
  • Willingness to work at site only
  • Knowledge of ALSTOM, GE, wall-fired, or other OEM boiler designs and auxiliaries
  • Hands-on boiler assessment and troubleshooting experience
  • Knowledge of boiler mechanical configuration, design, and components
  • Hands-on mechanical, electrical, and C&I troubleshooting experience for boilers, associated equipment, and control systems
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Capability or inclination toward technical assessment and implementation of technical recommendations at site
  • Ability to interface effectively with internal and external customers at all levels
  • Integrity and adherence to high ethical, moral, and personal values
