About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop business opportunities and conduct significant campaigns to win new business and generate revenue for major projects, upgrades, modernization, and Long Term Services Agreements
  • Negotiate and close complex, high-value deals with direct sales staff
  • Educate and enable the regional sales team on sales practices and processes
  • Identify opportunities by combining GE’s HVDC and FACTS services portfolio
  • Lead proposal teams in developing innovative customer and business solutions
  • Develop customer-centric solutions and long-term mutually beneficial relationships
  • Use market data to develop regional strategies, marketing initiatives, and campaigns
  • Promote brand awareness
  • Develop, manage, and report progress against the annual Operating Plan
  • Identify growth initiatives
  • Define market price levels and evaluate opportunity risks
  • Manage timely and accurate offer delivery and follow up on offers
  • Support contract negotiations with customers
  • Ensure regulatory compliance in all activities

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry experience
  • Proven experience in senior services, sales, and tendering roles with multi-million-dollar budgets
  • 10+ years of experience in grid-industry-related services, sales, application engineering, and/or marketing
  • Approximately 40% travel as needed based on business needs
  • Demonstrated success negotiating, closing deals, and developing contracts for significant multi-product, multi-year customer contracts
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, gain acceptance, and negotiate successful customer outcomes
  • Ability to research and analyze data to develop bid strategies, including potential partnerships
  • High moral, ethical, and personal values in decisions and relationships
  • Ability to communicate transparently with management about issues
  • Ability to work flexibly under significant time and commercial pressure during bids
  • Ability to respond creatively to rapidly changing competitive conditions and influence senior internal stakeholders
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Successful completion of a drug screen, as applicable
