About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide onsite and remote technical direction to site personnel and customers
  • Prepare job planning documents defining the work scope through engineering instructions, drawings, and process instructions
  • Provide leadership to skilled labor performing work on customer sites
  • Troubleshoot and perform routine maintenance checkout for power transformers, switchgear, protection relays, control systems, and motors
  • Troubleshoot electrical problems in substations on wind and solar plants
  • Write technical reports, order materials, secure quotations, and prepare job completion reports for customers
  • Exercise good judgment in controlling costs
  • Maintain a strong safety mindset
  • Mentor and train unqualified technicians

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Previous high-voltage experience
  • Familiarity with test equipment and testing procedures for transformers, relays, breakers, and underground splices
  • Familiarity with switching pad-mount transformers and substations
  • Ability to read schematics
  • Ability to write and interpret switching orders
  • Proven experience leading a field service team
  • Ability to mentor and train unqualified technicians
  • Advanced computer skills with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, and SmartSheets
  • Basic Workplace First Aid
  • Willingness to travel
  • Flexibility
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Safety must be a top priority
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Successful completion of a drug screen, as applicable
