About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform on-site transformer services, including new unit installation, corrective maintenance, and unit upgrades
- Assist team leaders with assigned crew members and subcontracted services
- Attend daily morning tailboards to outline daily activities
- Identify and report EHS/HSE concerns related to job scope
- Operate and control vacuum processing rigs and associated equipment
- Assist with or oversee field testing and commissioning of associated units
- Develop and improve standard procedures for transformer installation and maintenance services
- Provide technical assistance in preparing and submitting technical documents
- Develop inspection criteria with external and internal customers for transformer services
- Travel regionally and nationally across North America
- Provide emergency call-out services to support customers' year-round 24x7 production requirements
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical field, specializing in Power Transformer or HV/MV apparatus, or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and years of experience
- Minimum 5 years of field experience with mechanical and/or electrical experience related to power transformers or eBOP equipment
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 80% of the time
- Leadership experience
- Ability to cover for team leads at minimal notice
- Effective communication skills
- IT/computer proficiency with multiple software applications
- Ability to understand electrical schematics and one-line diagrams
- CDL license preferred, or ability to obtain
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- Successful completion of a drug screen, as applicable
- Mechanical experience through technical training institutes or military service with proven field experience encouraged
