About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform requirements engineering for new farm-level closed-loop EDGE applications and analytics
  • Quantify and document requirements and design tradeoffs for wind turbine and wind-farm applications
  • Design EDGE application software platform features and applications using analytics and optimization algorithms
  • Consolidate test cases for functional and system-level testing
  • Verify and validate applications, algorithms, and software features through simulation or remote testing on customer turbines
  • Containerize algorithms as applications and deploy them in wind farms using EDGE OS environments
  • Verify algorithm performance in deployed wind-farm environments
  • Execute routine analyses and contribute to technological developments
  • Contribute to product configuration management, sustaining, and customer support
  • Support product development programs and design review discussions
  • Present design details to chief engineers for evaluation and approval
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Global Research Center teams on energy-system control technology
  • Lead design implementation efforts

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Master / Bachelor's degree in Controls or Computer Science Engineering with Renewable Energy Emphasis preferred
  • Experience in software development, testing, validation, and deployment using C#, .NET, and Python
  • Experience working with Docker and Kubernetes environments
  • Experience relevant to wind turbine systems, Industrial SCADA and EDGE systems, and control system design
  • Experience with MATLAB Simulink, C/C++, C#, Python, and GEV Renewables SCADA and EDGE Software Platforms
  • Experience with system and software design principles, SDLC, Agile methodology, and AI-based software and tools
  • Hands-on experience implementing cybersecurity and coding standards
  • Demonstrated success in a global team environment
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work as a self-starter with minimal supervision
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs
