About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Execute contractual obligations according to customer requirements and daily site and hub activities
Maintain, repair, or replace parts to correct malfunctions in GE wind turbine generator equipment
Troubleshoot complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical problems on variable-pitch and variable-speed turbines
Support all areas of site operations as directed by the manager with minimal supervision
Observe all safety requirements
Perform diagnostic electrical analysis
Document all work using computer-based service reporting procedures
Work with and respond to GE’s remote operations center when necessary
Partner and communicate with the Site Lead and Manager to meet contract requirements and timelines
Travel locally within the hub

Requirements

What you’ll need

High School Diploma or GED and 1+ year(s) experience as a Wind Technician/Wind Mechanic, or completed Wind Certificate Program/Associate’s Degree in Energy, or 2 years of electrical work experience
Passing a Technical Knowledge Assessment
Basic computer skills
Valid driver’s license that must be maintained
Ability to handle repetitive weight of 50 lbs.
Ability to climb towers up to 300 feet daily
Must meet manufacturer weight limits not exceeding 300 lbs. including required gear
Ability and willingness to work in industrial, manufacturing, and power industry facilities
Ability to prioritize work according to contract obligations
Ability and willingness to take initiative and work without direct supervision
Flexibility to work rotating shifts and on-call schedules
Ability to work occasional overnights as required by hub needs
Legally authorized to work in the United States
Successful completion of a drug screen, as applicable
Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in a Technical, Electrical, or Electronics field is desired
Technical Certification in Wind Energy or Electrical/Electronic field is desired
Wind turbine experience
Electrical, mechanical, and/or hydraulic experience
Experience using hydraulic power tools
Experience with heavy equipment for facility maintenance and knowledge of crane and rigging requirements
