About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own per-customer AWS account provisioning and automate bootstrap workflows using Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD pipelines
- Implement Cyber Guardrails, including jumphost configuration, IAM policies, and VPC networking
- Deploy AWS infrastructure baselines including CloudTrail, CloudWatch, GuardDuty, Security Hub, and Config Rules
- Configure DNS, network connectivity, and cross-account trust relationships for customer environments
- Define sizing, scaling, and SLO baselines with Platform SRE
- Support blue/green and canary progressive delivery pipelines
- Integrate cloud-native observability hooks and synthetic monitors
- Assist with acceptance testing validation before production cutover
- Drive FinOps practices, resource right-sizing, savings plans, and monthly customer cost reports
- Maintain cloud security posture, apply CVE patches, and support compliance and audits
- Participate in Level 1/2 on-call incident response, root cause analysis, and BC/DR exercises
- Improve account automation through Python/Bash scripting and runbook codification
- Monitor FinOps KPIs and proactively flag anomalies to the SRE Lead
- Collaborate with Platform SRE, Observability, Production DevOps, and SecOps engineers to ensure availability, security, and cost efficiency of GridOS SaaS products
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3–5 years of hands-on experience in cloud infrastructure, SRE, or DevOps engineering roles
- AWS experience with EC2, EKS, S3, VPC, IAM, CloudTrail, CloudWatch, GuardDuty, Organizations, and Control Tower
- Infrastructure as Code experience using Terraform or AWS CloudFormation, or programming languages such as Python or Java
- Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and/or ArgoCD
- Fluency in Python and/or Bash scripting
- Knowledge of cloud security best practices, including IAM least privilege, security group design, and encryption at rest/in transit
- Exposure to FinOps concepts, including cost allocation tagging, savings plans, and Reserved Instances analysis
- Fluent in English
- Familiarity with cybersecurity standards and policies in regulated environments is desirable
- Knowledge of GovCloud or regulated-industry compliance such as FedRAMP, NERC CIP, or SOC 2 is desirable
- AWS certifications such as Solutions Architect or DevOps Engineer Professional are desirable
- Bachelor's degree in computer science
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong business analysis and problem-solving skills
- Ability to engage proactively with cross-functional teams and use critical thinking and analytical skills
- Ability to interact at all levels of the organization and with other GE businesses
