About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Build and own the full telemetry stack for GridOS SaaS reliability
- Implement organization-wide standards for metrics, logs, and distributed traces
- Implement Kubernetes metrics collection across pod, namespace, and cluster levels
- Define data retention policies, cardinality budgets, and telemetry cost controls
- Publish and maintain observability runbooks
- Define SLIs and SLOs with engineering, SRE, and customer stakeholders
- Build error-budget alerts, burn-rate dashboards, and automated SLO compliance reports
- Govern monthly SLO reviews and drive reliability-work prioritization
- Translate SLOs into customer-facing SLAs
- Design operational dashboards for availability, latency, error rates, and saturation
- Implement noise-reduced alerting, routing, escalation policies, and on-call schedules
- Create executive dashboards and customer-facing uptime reports
- Design synthetic monitoring for critical user journeys
- Build synthetic checks for APIs, UI flows, and integration endpoints
- Integrate synthetic monitoring into incident detection
- Expand observability coverage, tune alert signal-to-noise, and retire stale monitors
- Conduct observability health reviews to reduce MTTD and improve MTTR
- Correlate infrastructure cost metrics with performance and reliability data for FinOps validation
Requirements
What you’ll need- 2–3 years of experience in SRE, observability engineering, or infrastructure reliability roles
- Fluent in English
- Experience with at least one major observability platform: Datadog, Grafana + Prometheus, AWS CloudWatch, Dynatrace, or New Relic
- Understanding of distributed-systems telemetry, including metrics, structured logging, and distributed tracing
- Experience with Kubernetes observability, including kube-state-metrics, node exporters, Helm-deployed monitoring stacks, and namespace-level resource metrics
- Proficiency in PromQL, Splunk SPL, Datadog Query Language, or CloudWatch Logs Insights query syntax
- Experience configuring monitoring alerts for system-health visibility
- Python and/or Bash scripting skills
- Knowledge of AWS cloud infrastructure, including EKS, RDS, MSK, S3, EC2, EBS, and SQS
- Knowledge of Kubernetes and Rancher
- Experience with Ansible, Chef, or Puppet
- Linux administration skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science
