About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Prepare customer training classes, mainly in North America
  • Attend customer pre-training meetings and align technical scope and training objectives
  • Obtain customer technical data to build training material and customize simulation software, workshops, and labs
  • Ensure training equipment, manuals, and tools are available for each class
  • Assist with shipping paperwork and timely delivery of equipment to customer sites
  • Own training equipment condition, calibration, integrity, software licenses, and accessories
  • Plan and book travel itineraries, hotels, and rental cars
  • Assist with printing manuals and resolving supplier payment or expediting issues
  • Coordinate customer student giveaways
  • Assist with facility coordination and training-room readiness
  • Deliver customer training classes
  • Comply with customer and GE HSE policies during onsite or GE-facility training
  • Report risks related to software, shipments, site hazards, student behavior, and similar issues
  • Deliver training according to contract scope and report discrepancies
  • Submit SAP time, expenses, and training completion documents
  • Continuously improve training quality through equipment investments and risk identification
  • Initiate Stop Work when necessary
  • Perform periodic equipment and software-license health checks
  • Update training materials, branding, and workshops to reflect product developments
  • Innovate training delivery through cloud-based VMs, e-learning, new product training, and AI applications
  • Provide technical direction and guidance to field resources supporting power-equipment outages
  • Advise field services and mobilization for first-of-a-kind Controls installations and new Controls NPI
  • Assist with critical Customer Issue Resolution
  • Work with associated teams to create, manage, coordinate, and deliver training globally to internal and external partners and customers
  • Perform content development, training, and registrar duties
  • Mentor junior team members and act as a technical resource
  • Develop strong customer relationships and serve as the interface between customers and GE

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • BS degree in electrical or mechanical engineering from an accredited university
  • More than 7 years of experience in Power Plant controls engineering, field services, and instruction
  • Strong communication skills and passion for training
  • Proficiency with Cimplicity, ToolboxST, and MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Mastery of MS Office solutions, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint/Box
  • Proficiency with SAP is required
  • Advanced organizational skills and ability to handle conflicts and pressure
  • Ability to travel 50% to customer sites within North America, mainly the United States
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information, if applicable
  • Successful completion of a drug screen, as applicable
  • Experience with MarkVIe and EX2100e controls platforms is a plus
  • Nuclear and Aero controls experience is a plus
  • Experience with cybersecurity systems for industrial applications is desired
  • Experience with SAP and Smartsheet is desired
  • Experience working for a large engineering firm of more than 1,000 persons is desired
  • Technical communication skills
