About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Direct the functional area of controls design for the nuclear business segment
Translate concepts, develop strategy, and implement change
Create programs responsive to the external environment
Participate in cross-functional business and cultural development
Provide technical consultation and leadership during the design process
Lead and guide the design review process and preside over formal design reviews
Promote division-wide initiatives related to design quality and reliability
Represent the Chief Engineer’s Office in design practices and design board activities
Represent GE Vernova Hitachi Nuclear Energy in industry groups
Provide technical mentoring and technical training
Support Nuclear Energy quality initiatives
Apply experience and knowledge to solve technical problems
Disseminate lessons learned across design organizations

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor of Science in Engineering
At least 15 additional years of experience in an engineering capacity
Ability to travel up to 25%, including internationally
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Leadership to pursue correct engineering processes in adverse conditions
Ability to interface effectively with all levels of the organization
Considered an expert in a specific engineering discipline
Access to U.S. export-controlled information requires authorization from the U.S. Government, if applicable
Legally authorized to work in the United States
Successful completion of a drug screen, as applicable
