About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Direct the functional area of controls design for the nuclear business segment
- Translate concepts, develop strategy, and implement change
- Create programs responsive to the external environment
- Participate in cross-functional business and cultural development
- Provide technical consultation and leadership during the design process
- Lead and guide the design review process and preside over formal design reviews
- Promote division-wide initiatives related to design quality and reliability
- Represent the Chief Engineer’s Office in design practices and design board activities
- Represent GE Vernova Hitachi Nuclear Energy in industry groups
- Provide technical mentoring and technical training
- Support Nuclear Energy quality initiatives
- Apply experience and knowledge to solve technical problems
- Disseminate lessons learned across design organizations
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor of Science in Engineering
- At least 15 additional years of experience in an engineering capacity
- Ability to travel up to 25%, including internationally
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Leadership to pursue correct engineering processes in adverse conditions
- Ability to interface effectively with all levels of the organization
- Considered an expert in a specific engineering discipline
- Access to U.S. export-controlled information requires authorization from the U.S. Government, if applicable
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- Successful completion of a drug screen, as applicable
