About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Drive the 1P1P methodology as the technical lead for Gas Power
  • Translate global corporate standards into site-specific process improvements optimizing Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost metrics
  • Lead, mentor, and coach Global Process Engineer Authorities across Gas Turbine, Generator, Repairs, and HRSG/Steam value streams
  • Provide technical support for site bottlenecks, rapid problem-solving, and new technology implementation
  • Monitor site adherence to 1P1P standards and intervene when practices deviate from the roadmap
  • Codify technical knowledge from site problem-solving into global standards
  • Oversee manufacturing technology from concept through retirement
  • Ensure equipment and process investments align with repeatability and efficiency benchmarks
  • Integrate automation and digital tools, including AI, autonomous machine learning, and condition-based monitoring
  • Interface between the Gas Power Supply Chain and Central Robotics and Automation organization
  • Influence EHS, Quality, Materials, and Sourcing stakeholders
  • Resolve technical disagreements between site operations and GPEA members
  • Travel to global manufacturing sites to drive shop-floor implementation and audit compliance

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Higher in Engineering, such as Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or a related field
  • Significant industrial experience leading the design and deployment of advanced manufacturing technologies
  • Deep experience in shaping, machining, joining/welding, finishing, and complex assembly
  • Functional knowledge of the Purdue model for industrial automation
  • Experience with control theory, kinematics, and dynamics
  • Experience with Lean line implementation, mechanical automation, and sensing
  • Proficient analytical skills in applied automation, manufacturing methods, and process control
  • Ability to identify hardware issues
  • Proven ability to manage global teams, complex P&L/cost centers, and influence stakeholders in a matrixed environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a servant leadership approach
  • Ability to coach and influence others while leading global teams
  • Ability to travel 30%+ to global manufacturing sites
  • Experience with power-generation manufacturing methods preferred as a differentiator
  • Demonstrated success using DFSS and Lean methodologies, including 3P, Poka Yoke, and Kaizen
  • Experience improving process capability using Cpk/Ppk
  • Experience with NDT methods and precision metrology relevant to power generation
