About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Define, deploy and sustain quality engineering and quality assurance processes across the entire GIS product lifecycle.
  • Lead the implementation of key quality tools, including Product and Process FMEAs, control plans, MSA and SPC.
  • Define standards, governance and documentation required for a consistent deployment of quality methodologies across the product portfolio and manufacturing sites.
  • Ensure the delivery of all NPI quality deliverables in accordance with the Confluence NPI process, and verify compliance before each BOD milestone.
  • Act as a reference and coach in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and structured problem-solving for cross-functional teams.
  • Lead complex quality investigations, root cause analyses and the implementation of robust corrective and preventive actions, both in factories and at customer sites.
  • Drive improvement plans for GIS products not meeting FPY objectives to achieve and sustain results.
  • Structure the systematic integration of field feedback, root cause analyses and corrective/preventive actions into Product and Process FMEA updates.
  • Deploy high-impact Quality Kaizen initiatives at production sites.
  • Identify and lead harmonization actions across lines and product groups to improve product quality and simplify quality processes.
  • Implement structured audits of manufacturing processes, including routine testing, to strengthen process control and product robustness.
  • Define and deploy Quality Built-In strategies, focusing on prevention, detection and reduction of critical failures.
  • Provide quality leadership in transfer of activity / transfer of production (TOW) projects to secure ramp-up and stability of series production.
  • Define, structure and oversee tracking of reliability and availability indicators, including MTBF and failure rates.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 8 years' experience in Gas-Insulated Switchgear (GIS) or in a closely related industrial environment.
  • Deep knowledge of GIS products and their technical, industrial and reliability requirements.
  • Recognized expertise in diagnosing mechanical failures, insulation defects and issues related to product application.
  • Proven experience conducting field investigations and driving effective, sustainable corrective actions.
  • Proficiency in interpreting and classifying partial discharge (PD) patterns, and identifying associated root causes on GIS products.
  • Ability to support plant quality teams in PD analysis, failure diagnosis and implementation of appropriate corrective actions.
  • Strong expertise in quality engineering, risk management and quality problem-solving.
  • Proficiency with core quality tools, including Product and Process FMEAs, Measurement System Analysis (MSA), control plans and process control approaches.
  • Ability to identify critical-to-quality (CTQ) characteristics and implement effective prevention and detection mechanisms.
  • Proficiency in SPC, capability analysis and data-driven control approaches.
  • Significant experience implementing structured problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, A3, 5 Whys, Fault Tree Analysis and RCA.
  • Certification as an RCA coach required, with proven experience facilitating structured problem-solving efforts.
  • Extensive experience leading high-impact Quality Kaizen initiatives.
  • Strong experience in in-depth manufacturing process audits and ISO 9001 system audits.
