About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- You lead our on-site activities in our 110/400 kV substation projects.
- You are our on-site representative, the contact person for our client on site, and you coordinate your site team as well as our subcontractors for civil and installation works.
- As the person responsible for site activities and their execution, you play a key role in ensuring that work at the substation is carried out safely, to a high standard of quality, on schedule, and cost-effectively.
- Mobilization: Coordinate the mobilization of site personnel together with internal departments and subcontractors, and plan the site setup.
- Occupational safety: Plan and coordinate all work on site in compliance with applicable occupational health, environmental and safety regulations, and contribute to the preparation of work and safety instructions.
- Site management: Lead all site activities, including managing subcontractors, to ensure smooth operations on site.
- Communication: Serve as the point of contact for our client and lead construction/site meetings.
- Control & reporting: Monitor quality, costs and schedules during construction and report accordingly to project management.
- Opportunities & risks: Identify and manage risks and opportunities related to installation activities and report them to project management.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Completed vocational training in electrical engineering with several years of professional experience, ideally with further qualifications as a technician or master craftsman.
- Experience as a site manager in substation projects or comparable projects (e.g., oil & gas, power plants), or experience in installation of high-voltage components is desirable.
- Strong awareness of health, safety and environmental (EHS) requirements according to international standards; the ability to identify and stop unsafe work is expected.
- Excellent interpersonal communication and leadership skills, good organizational skills, and the ability to provide clear reporting.
- Lean mindset: open to further training, new tools and continuous improvement.
- Willingness to travel within Germany and the Netherlands.
- Very good written and spoken German; English skills are an advantage.
- Driving license class B.
