About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Drive quality for assigned suppliers, including quality plan implementation.
- Select suppliers through qualification processes.
- Own supplier results, drive improvements utilizing supplier scorecards.
- Own supplier audits, ensuring compliance, and driving improvement plans where needed.
- In-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work.
- In-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
- Lead both Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA) and Supplier Quality Development (SQD) activities for assigned suppliers, ensuring alignment with GE Vernova's standards of excellence.
- Identify, evaluate, and qualify suppliers through structured qualification processes; develop and manage action plans to close gaps.
- Plan and execute supplier audits, ensuring compliance with applicable industrial and regulatory standards; develop improvement plans where deficiencies are identified.
- Own supplier scorecards and performance data; drive data-driven improvement initiatives using APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, COPQ, corrective action (CAPA), and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Apply root cause analysis and structured problem-solving (8D, 5-Why) to resolve supplier quality issues and prevent recurrence.
- Work closely with engineering, procurement, and operations teams to align quality strategy with business goals; provide informal mentorship to junior team members.
- Play a foundational role in developing the North American BESS supply chain; engage with suppliers across the US, India, and Asia.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of experience in Job Family Group(s)/Function(s))
- Experience in battery technology supply chains — particularly from automotive EV/battery, wind, power electronics, or energy storage sectors
- Hands-on proficiency with quality methodologies: APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, COPQ, ISO 9001, CAPA, 8D, or equivalent
- Familiarity with engineering drawings and technical specifications relevant to electrical/mechanical components
- Experience conducting supplier audits and assessments
- Background with supplier scorecards and performance management systems
