About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Drive quality for assigned suppliers, including quality plan implementation.
Select suppliers through qualification processes.
Own supplier results, drive improvements utilizing supplier scorecards.
Own supplier audits, ensuring compliance, and driving improvement plans where needed.

Lead both Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA) and Supplier Quality Development (SQD) activities for assigned suppliers, ensuring alignment with GE Vernova's standards of excellence.
Identify, evaluate, and qualify suppliers through structured qualification processes; develop and manage action plans to close gaps.
Plan and execute supplier audits, ensuring compliance with applicable industrial and regulatory standards; develop improvement plans where deficiencies are identified.
Own supplier scorecards and performance data; drive data-driven improvement initiatives using APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, COPQ, corrective action (CAPA), and continuous improvement methodologies.
Apply root cause analysis and structured problem-solving (8D, 5-Why) to resolve supplier quality issues and prevent recurrence.
Work closely with engineering, procurement, and operations teams to align quality strategy with business goals; provide informal mentorship to junior team members.
Play a foundational role in developing the North American BESS supply chain; engage with suppliers across the US, India, and Asia.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of experience in Job Family Group(s)/Function(s))
Experience in battery technology supply chains — particularly from automotive EV/battery, wind, power electronics, or energy storage sectors
Hands-on proficiency with quality methodologies: APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, COPQ, ISO 9001, CAPA, 8D, or equivalent
Familiarity with engineering drawings and technical specifications relevant to electrical/mechanical components
Experience conducting supplier audits and assessments
Background with supplier scorecards and performance management systems
