About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Coordination of PTR service technicians and equipment to perform on site transformer services covering new unit installation, corrective maintenance, and unit upgrades
  • Lead on-site resources of assigned crew members and subcontracted services
  • Perform daily morning tailboards with the crews and or customer resources
  • Perform daily end of day tailboards with crews and or customer resources
  • Identify and report any EHS/HSE concerns with associated works
  • Daily status update reports detailing team activities, unit status, delays or any other critical operations related to site task being performed by GE PTR teams
  • Operation and control of vacuum processing rigs and associated equipment
  • Perform and or oversee the associated field test or commissioning of associated units
  • Oversight to confirm that test technicians follow required commissioning standards and submission of test results to engineering for review and confirmation
  • Annotating and editing drawings for 'as built” to properly document changes made to OEM design
  • Participate in the development and improvement on associated standard procedures associated with transformer service
  • Provide technical assistance in the preparation of submission of technical documents
  • Participate in the development of inspection criteria in collaboration with external and internal customers associated with transformer services

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 80% of the time
  • Minimum of 10 years of field experience with specific mechanical and/or electrical experience related to power transformers or other Electrical Balance of Plant (eBOP) equipment such as high voltage breakers, switchgear, and associated devices
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with specialization in Power Transformer or HV/MV apparatus or Electrical Engineering or equivalent 10 years of PTR installation and repair experience
  • Leadership experience in a high-pressure ever-changing work environment with direct customer contact
  • Effective communications skills both written and verbal
  • Site management and field service experience
  • Ability to understand electrical schematics and one-line diagrams
  • Resource scheduling and forecasting of required activities
  • Ability to forecast equipment requirements for job specific execution
  • CDL license preferred, or the ability to obtain
