About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

The Commissioning Engineer shall be responsible for testing and executing commissioning activities of various projects under execution as per GEV Quality, Construction & Commissioning & EHS Processes.
You will report to the Regional Commissioning Team Leader.
The position requires 100% construction site presence during the execution phase.
Liaise with design office and PM team for timely issuance of data required for preparation of commissioning site works (specs, designs, BOQ, material lists, …)
Prepare Commissioning documentation like ITPs, Checklists etc.
Electrical and functional testing (hands on testing as standalone tester) of Primary and Secondary devices on the switchyards.
Publish test reports and follow up completion of relevant quality documentation.
Complying with the contract requirements and the project Quality Plan.
Follow up, be the point of contact and assist in testing and commissioning done by 3rd parties under relevant scope.
Monitoring, recording and reporting of the given work progress.
Ensure all C&P testing and commissioning activities are carried out in compliance with safety requirements, quality standards, and applicable regulations.
Maintain effective communication with customers, contractors, and internal stakeholders during site execution.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Completed degree in electrical engineering, energy technology, or a comparable qualification.
Knowledge in elements of electrical substations: CT/VTs, CBs, Protection Relays, Control Systems, Transformers etc.
Significant knowledge and of experience in Commissioning of substations, Power Plants or HVDC Systems.
Fluent in English, German language or additional language skills are a plus.
Willingness to work on construction sites in Germany and abroad, and optional assignments on offshore platforms.
German driver's license class B
