About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide technical direction and oversight of Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) activities
  • Support planning of GE Vernova Hitachi Nuclear Energy (GVH) project schedule and delivery
  • Provide task leadership, technical direction, work coordination and supervision of work teams
  • Communicate with customers and supervise up to 15 contractors and co-workers
  • Prepare automated tooling and equipment prior to nuclear power plant outage inspections
  • Perform In-Vessel UT inspection activities at nuclear customer sites
  • Evaluate and document performance issues at inspections
  • Participate in the development of new NDE techniques and tooling improvements

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering or technical field from accredited college or university
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 75% to domestically and internationally plant sites
  • Ability and willingness to relocate to Wilmington, NC
  • This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to climb 10 flights of stairs twice per day
  • Ability to pass respirator fit test and physical
  • Ability to pass Fitness for Duty requirements and site security requirements to obtain unescorted access
  • Ability to work under high stress conditions
  • Ability and willingness to work in radiation-controlled and radioactively contaminated areas
  • Ability and willingness to work 12 hrs./day and 7 days/week when needed for project delivery
