Senior Engineering Manager – Wind Yaw Systems
GE Vernova. The Wind Yaw System Engineering Leader reports to the Machine Head Engineering Leader and is responsible for the design, development, and technical health of yaw system components .
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- The Wind Yaw System Engineering Leader reports to the Machine Head Engineering Leader and is responsible for the design, development, and technical health of yaw system components
- Lead a global engineering team dedicated to product innovation, technical improvements, and the lifecycle management of these components
- Define and execute business priorities using LEAN methodologies
- Champion a high-performance culture focused on talent acquisition, mentorship, and development of technical capabilities
- Quickly master the technical intricacies of the yaw system to guide the team in delivering cost-effective engineering solutions
- Engage with stakeholders to ensure seamless product integration
- Manage relationships with key suppliers and present findings to internal senior leadership and external customers
- Oversee designs ensuring they meet stringent availability, reliability, and performance targets
- Foster a culture of psychological safety and accountability
- Set clear, actionable goals prioritizing safety, quality, delivery, and cost
- Lead development of a robust yaw system validation roadmap
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related discipline from an accredited university or college
- 10 years of experience
- Professional engineering experience including formal people leadership
- Preferred experience within the Wind industry
- Preferred Master’s degree in Engineering or Business Administration
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 30% of the time
