About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead and execute the testing and commissioning of the HVDC Valve Cooling and Mechanical and Building Services Systems.
  • Liaise with Engineering and PM team for timely issuance of data required for preparation of site works (specs, designs, BOQ, material lists, …).
  • Review Valve Cooling Sub-system & Auxiliary System architecture and drawings.
  • Check the interfaces between these systems and 3rd party systems including GEV eLumina HVDC Control.
  • Prepare and maintain commissioning documentation like Program, Procedures, ITPs, Checklists etc. for HVDC Valve Cooling & Auxiliary Systems.
  • Scheduling, preparing staffing plans, manage site team mobilization and track actuals versus plan for this scope.
  • Perform, manage and support functional testing of Building Systems (BMS), Mechanical Auxiliary Systems and HVDC Valve Cooling System.
  • Reporting on regular basis to the Site Commissioning Manager and be the first point of contact for testing and commissioning of HVDC Valve Cooling & Auxiliary systems scope including management of the team of commissioning engineers under this scope.
  • Publish test reports and follow up completion of relevant quality documentation.
  • Ensure all Testing & Commissioning activities are performed in accordance with safety protocols and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Completed degree in electrical engineering, mechatronics engineering, energy technology, or a comparable qualification.
  • Knowledge and experience in commissioning of components such as cooling systems, HVAC, building management systems, automation systems.
  • Basic knowledge in elements and interfaces of electrical substations or HVDC Systems.
  • Strong health and safety mindset aligned with international standards, with the ability to identify and stop unsafe work.
  • Understanding of electrical and mechanical schematics, wiring diagrams, interlocking logic and communication schemes.
  • Fluent in English; additional language skills are a plus.
  • Willingness to work on construction sites in Germany and abroad, and optional assignments on offshore platforms.
  • German driver's license class B or equivalent
